The two engine types available for the Compass include a 2.0-liter 158-horsepower inline 4-cylinder engine, and a slightly more powerful 2.4-liter variant that puts out 172-horsepower.  Regardless of which trim you choose you'll have the option of either Front or Four-Wheel Drive.  The Latitude and Limited Trims come with a 6-speed automatic transmission by default, while the Sport uses a standard 5-speed manual (but has an option to upgrade to the 6-speed automatic version).
