Mid-West Family Vacations

There's still time to plan a trip this summer! If you have a little one, be sure to check out these kid friendly family destinations in the Midwest.

Branson, Missouri. If you haven't been to Branson, you're really missing out! There's so many neat things to do there. Silver Dollar City is at the top of the list. There's a great theme park, White Water (water park), and great shopping. Not to mention The Ozarks and historical attractions in the area.

Dubuque, Iowa. What a beautiful area nestled right along the Mississippi River. You can find tons of great shopping in both of these towns. Sprout Baby and Toddler Boutique is a great store located within Steve's Ace Hardware in Dubuque. For family run, visit the Field or Dreams movie site or Grand Harbor Resort.

Galena, Illinois: Galena is located across the river from Dubuque, Iowa. This lovely historical town is known for it's lovely boutiques. There are river tours, ghost tours, and many historical sites. In Galena, there is definitely something for everyone in the family.

Bishop Hill, Illinois. Bishop Hill is a historical Swedish village founded in 1846. There are many historical building to see for a very educational experience. There is a potterymaker's shop and be sure to see the Old Colony Church. There are also many events that take place all year long. In September, Bishop Hill celebrates Old Settlers' Day.

Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. One of the Midwest's most favorite tourist traps, there's much to do and see there. Noah's Ark water park has over 50 slides and 80 family fun activities. You can't go to The Dells without going to Mt. Olympus, where you can ride the many rollercoasters, go carts, and visit their water park as well. There's great shopping, restaurants, and don't forget to ride The Ducks!
