Based on the Fiat Ducato full-size cargo van sold in Europe, the ProMaster 2500 joined the Ram line-up last year. Offered in a wide array of configurations, the ProMaster competes with the Nissan NV, Ford Transit and Chevrolet Express. The ProMaster is available in four body styles: cargo van, chassis cab, cutaway or window van. 2 roof heights and 4 body lengths are available. Power comes from a 3.6 liter gas V6 or a turbo diesel 3.0 liter 4-cylinder engine.

Under the ProMaster 2500's Hood

Power-wise, look for a 3.6-liter V6 engine to return standard in all 2015 ProMaster editions. Mated with the also-standard six-speed automatic transmission, this peppy 6-cylinder puts out 280 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. The ProMaster 2500, in all its permutations, is eligible for an optional 3.0 liter turbo-diesel inline 4-cylinder (I4) power plant that sports a 6-speed auto-manual transmission managing 174 hp and a potent 295 lb-ft of torque that, with the proper equipment installed, can tow up to 5,100 pounds of trailer.

Design of RAM ProMaster 2500

The ProMaster 2500 doesn't offer trim levels like most traditional models. Instead, it comes in two available wheelbases, 136 inches and 159 inches, both of which feature a high-roof body style for extra storage. The ProMaster is also offered with a wide range of options. They include rear parking sensors, a navigation system, a backup camera, heated seats, a sliding door on the driver's side, rear parking sensors, Bluetooth, cruise control, steering wheel-mounted audio controls and alloy wheels.
