New 2017 Jeep Cherokee at Kayser Chrysler Center for Sauk City, WI
The Jeep Cherokee is true to its roots as a Jeep, sporting a durable, off-road ready exterior with comfortable and well equipped interior. There are five available trim levels: Sport, Latitude, Trailhawk, Limited, and Overland and several special packages. For an optimized off-road experience, the Trailhawk model comes with off-road oriented gear.
Under the Cherokee's Hood
Two different engines are available to power the Jeep Cherokee. The first engine is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine which can generate 184 horsepower and 171 pound-feet of torque. The other option is a 3.2-liter V6 engine and provides a little more power with 271 horsepower and 239 pound-feet of torque. These engines are paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard on many trim levels but there are four-wheel drive options available. Rear-axle disconnect is available on the Jeep Cherokee and helps to save energy and increase fuel economy by identifying when four-wheel drive is unnecessary and making adjustments to reflect that information. The Cherokee can come with one of three four-wheel drive options: Light-duty Active Drive I is standard on Sport and Latitude models and features a Selec-Terrain dial. Trailhawk and Overland models offer the Active Drive II four-wheel drive system which features a low-range gearing and a locking rear differential. If you're looking for increased off-road capability, the Trailhawk is designed with that ambition in mind. The off-road-oriented features of the Trailhawk include off-road skid plates, off-road-oriented suspension, hill ascent and descent control, and 17-inch wheels with all-terrain tires. For best-in-class towing capability, Jeep offers an optional towing package. When properly equipped, the Jeep Cherokee can tow up to 4,500 pounds.
Design of Jeep Cherokee
The typical Jeep aesthetic is maintained in the Jeep Cherokee but also places added effort in the interior in an effort to cultivate a pleasant and comfortable cabin environment. All occupants of the vehicle will enjoy the Jeep Cherokee's spacious interior and comfortable cabin. Standard features at the base-level include a USB charge only port, a 5-inch touchscreen, and a tilt-and-telescope steering wheel. If you're looking for more premium features and equipment, the Cherokee Overland may be for you. Full of upscale feature, the Cherokee Overland boasts a navigation system, Alpine premium audio, and a leather-wrapped instrument panel and steering wheel with Zebrano high-gloss wood trim. The 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen interface adds convenience and a modern flair to an already sophisticated vehicle. Optional Packages are available to further equip your vehicle.
