New 2017 Chrysler Pacifica at Kayser Chrysler Center for Sauk City, WI
Chrysler redefined the family vehicle when it launched the minivan as we know it, more than 30 years ago. The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica looks to recapture some of that innovation with unique features and a striking design. The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica and Pacifica Hybrid revolutionize the minivan segment with nearly 40 new minivan firsts and after creating the minivan segment more than 30 years ago, Chrysler now boasts an unmatched 115 minivan innovations including first minivan featuring instrument panel drawer with storage for iPad, first minivan featuring center floor consoles with four cup holders in any price class, first minivan with USB ports in back of front seat, first minivan featuring 10-inch touchscreens in second row and more.
Under the Pacifica's Hood
The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica will use a 3.6-liter V6 engine rated at 287 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, and paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission driving the front wheels. The Pacifica Hybrid model will also use a 3.6-liter V6, but one that is rated at 248 hp. The V6 will be complemented by two electric motors powered by a lithium-ion battery. Chrysler says the hybrid can travel 30 miles on electric power alone. It also has a plug-in port for recharging the battery, which Chrysler says should take just two hours on a 220-volt charger or less than 14 hours on a typical household outlet.
Design of Chrysler Pacifica
Full array of comfort and convenience technologies available, including Stow 'n Vac integrated vacuum, handsfree sliding doors and liftgate, and redesigned Stow 'n Go seating with Stow 'n Go Assist. Available mobile phone app allows vehicle owners to start their vehicle, lock or unlock doors, and honk the horns and lights from nearly any location and provides on-demand Wi-Fi hotspot subscriptions for a day, week or month. Even HDMI ports are available in the second row to transfer, charge, control and shuffle between a connected device and the vehicle screens. Using a four-digit security PIN programmed via the Uconnect 8.4-inch touchscreen, an assigned key fob places limits on speed and audio volume, mutes the audio when front seatbelts are not buckled, prevents the disabling of certain features like Forward Collision Warning-Plus and ParkSense rear park assist and allows blocking of SiriusXM channels. The new Pacifica will offer that most important feature of a family road tripper: entertainment. Front passengers get an 8.4-inch touchscreen to control audio, navigation and smartphone app functions, while rear seat passengers score the sweeter deal with the Uconnect Theater system: dual 10-inch HD touchscreens for watching movies, playing built-in games or connecting personal devices to stream content.
